When it comes to little girls it is so nice to know you can depend on the performance of Sunbrella fabrics. I wanted a soft feminine room for this growing young lady and with my collection of Sunbrella fabrics I was able to achieve that look for drapery, trims, top of bed and upholstery. Not to mention the covers for the little terrace.

This bed ensemble I designed for my daughter Meg's home. The entire bed is designed with my Sunbrella fabric collection. I enjoy using Sunbrella for "top of bed" it wears beautifully.

Available at Miles Talbott. The bed is my Colette Bed for Gat Creek and is named after my grand daughter. The finish is Malibu Mist.

Twice a year we create our introductions for Sunbrella. After meetings on trends, fashion forecasts, input from Glen Raven executives from international design shows (extremely valuable) and lifestyles; we begin to create designs that will be introduced at furniture and fabric markets. I am so proud of our team and the wonderful energy they bring to this process. Pictured here are Sunbrella Executives. After our selections are finalized Emily Cosgrove and Greg Voorhis enter the color, fabric name, yarn combinations, warp and construction for each fabric. We always work outside to make sure we have the best possible light for the color selections.

We enjoyed welcoming a record attendance of designers and clients to the Miromar Design Center in Naples, Florida. Peter Webster of Webster & Company introduced our Joe Ruggiero Collection of fabrics and furniture all Made in America to the Naples residents. George Jordan, President of Miles Talbott was on hand to answer questions about the upholstery collection. We were proud to showcase our wood furniture from Gat Creek. Lunch was served as we greeted new friends from the internet and resident designers. Thank you all for making this a day to remember.

It is always a delight to brunch in the courtyard at the Hotel Costes in Paris. The hotel interiors were designed by Jacques Garcia and it is indeed special. Here you see giant blinis with gravlax and a fricassee of vegetables the perfect menu. You will probably finish with a salad of mixed greens with avocado and tomatoes. Oh yes, a lovely white wine.

Winter Comes To My Garden. Sunbrella Table Skirt Will Remain For Winter.

With winter we see changes here in California. Perhaps not as severe as other spots in the country but none the less the garden has a more severe look. We do keep our Sunbrella drape table skirt in Upland/Denim on the table all winter. I like the touch of blue in our green garden. No more dinners outside but we will have lunches overlooking the pool.

We do have season changes here in California but they are subtle.

The studio is filled with swatch trials of our new collections for Sunbrella. We are now selecting for Fall 2012. We are so pleased with this rich collection. The look is like fine Italian silks. These fabrics, however will have the same wear ability as our other Sunbrella fabrics: "easy care and heavy wear." It is hard to believe these elegant fabrics will take the wear of a canvas. We are now putting the looks together and I will go on the record and say you have never seen Sunbrella like this before. More previews to come!

An evening at Thomas Keller's Bouchon is always memorable but when you get to visit his kitchen it makes the entire evening a treat. Here we are with cousin Chad Mountain and his friend Whitney Webster. My wife Barbara and Whitney tour the grilled food line. We were also shown the TV screen which monitors all three Bouchons in New York, Vegas and Northern California. The rosemary ice cream and chocolate bouchons were outstanding. Whitney agrees!

What a brilliant idea to use the colors of Autumn outside New York's Tavern on the Green to set the mood of the New York Conservancy's Dinner Dance. New York Party Designer Bronson van Wyck did a masterful job of using a "see through" tent to capture the beauty of Autumn In New York and create a spectacular indoor/outdoor effect. I applaud your talents to make this a memorable event for design inspiration. Bravo!!

I spent quite some time developing my table/floor lamp collection for Craftmade. I wanted collectible pieces of art inspired by antiques I had collected or observed in museums throughout the world. The shades are all Sunbrella from my Sunbrella fabric collections so they will wear extremely well. The Santibol lamp (76030) was inspired by an Italian oil lamp and gives any space a sense of history. That is a coral motif on the sides.
Our Belgravia (76000) table lamp is an award winner (Casual Furniture Show) because it is designed for interior or exterior use.
The Florentine Lamp (76050) can bring romance into any room.

Our Salon Sofa takes on an Italian aire covered in Sunbrella/Meridian. An assortment of JR patterns new and current create a mix of patterned pillows. The Chine chairs have a driftwood finish and the seats are covered in Tamaran/Stone; new this market. The upholstered screens with decorative nail heads are also part of the JR collection and are covered in Sunbrella Trax/Wren. Cocktail table is from Gat Creek, solid cherry in a espresso finish. A group of Charlotte, North Carolina designers came to the Meyers Park Country Club to hear Joe Ruggiero present his Sunbrella and Miles Talbott collections and discuss his "World Wide" travels and inspirations for design. The IDS Chapter raised funds at the lunch for a student scholarship in memory of Michael Godfrey. President, Charlotte,IDS chapter, Barbara Eldridge spoke of Michael Godfrey's dedication to arts. Joe Ruggiero in pictures with Bobbie Cox, program chairman and Barbara Eldridge as well as Greg Rosendale, Sunbrella. Ruggiero also previewed his new High Point introductions.

These lectures were mostly given at the Metropolitan Museum in New York to standing room only audiences. I salute this lady, Rosamond Bernier on her 95th birthday. What a treasure. Our Friends at Sunbrella hosted a dinner for the Ruggiero family at the Chef's table at the Montage Beverly Hills restaurant Scarpetta. What a wonderful way to celebrate with the family as the kitchen staff prepared the meal before our eyes. The entire Ruggiero family thank our friends at Sunbrella for this thoughtful and memorable gift.

A small New York apartment never looked so good. This space was designed by and for designer Maureen Footer and what a lovely job she has done with basically a one room apartment. The placement of the work area, living room and bedroom all work together and give the illusion of a much larger space. The bedroom is merely divided by an upholstered screen Each and every piece has been beautifully curated by Maureen and the mix of colors, wallcovering and fabric choices "smashing." Brava Maureen.

Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, he went on to become one of the leaders of the modernist movement. His designs for the Kennedy Center, and the Museum of Modern Art are legendary. His simplistic, elegant designs are pictured in structures he designed in Palm Beach, Florida. His son Hicks Stone (pictured) has just published a book on his father's life.

Among the small topiary on the back terrace are these small orchid plants which were given to me as a gift by a very thoughtful dinner guest. I will have to wait until spring to see more flowers but it is so beautiful to see them tucked in amongst the green plants and trellis.
