Chippendale Revival!
Thomas Chippendale was so inspired by the Chinese that his style was called Chinese Chippendale. Here is my take on the master's design I call the Chine Chair. It can go in many directions: hall chair, pull up, dining chair or desk chair; with many different finishes for different expressions...the perfect accent chair. Available at Miles Talbott.

Wahington DC Design Lecture
Off to Washington DC to present my inspirations from "round the world"...it has taken a while to compile images and video clips of places and people who have influenced my designs. In many ways it is my life story. Design is really a global thing! Sixteen (16) countries in just a four year period for HGTV.

Fashion Rules!
I believe the clothes we wear and the way we decorate our rooms are becoming very similar; for this reason I am designing fashions to demonstrate how Sunbrella fabrics have improved in softness and drape ability! This is merely to demonstrate how this wonder fabric has improved and now is perfect for drapery, top of bed and all indoor upholstery.

A Look To The Future
With all my designs I always give a nod to the past but a look to the future. This Sloane chair was inspired by a 1920 Ocean Liner salon chair. I have updated it for today by giving it a sleak clean look. Custom crafted by Miles Talbott and upholstered with one of my Sunbrella fabrics that forms to the frame to give easy care and not to worry about living in comfort.

New York Fashion Week Flower Power
Dots What's Happening!
The rage is polka dots. People continue to be "in love" with dots. I can not explain but one of our best selling Sunbrella patterns is Dottie, a traditional polka dot. I have since gone a little more edgy with POKA/Taupe (yes, there is no "L" in my name.) This pattern I married with a classic French chair I call Germaine available through Miles Talbott Furniture. I see a trend of mixing contemporary fabrics with classic upholstery frames. I really like this look.

New Lamp Collection by Craftmade
I am pleased to announce the introduction of my new lighting collection (pictured the Bali Lamp with Sunbrella shade). Also pictured is my Xavier desk, made in the USA by Gat Creek. This desk was reproduced from one I have had in my collection for 40 years. It goes anywhere, hall piece, side table...great next to the bed. One of my favorites!
Also my Stanton upholstered screens which I use in most of my installations.
Fashion Week Inspiration
Clean, crisp and off white! That is what impressed me on the runways, and what the fashion designers I admire most had to say. Here is my Maxfield group of upholstery by Miles Talbott featuring my Sunbrella fabrics. The Maxfield group is built low to the ground but has a transitional look that will fit most any decor. It is also extremely comfortable which is the mark of Miles Talbott construction.
New Limited Edition Photography
During my travels to 16 countries for HGTV, I was able to photograph some classic images. W.King Ambler has published these works and along with some of my original artwork has developed a collection of signed pieces that will be available for purchase at the October Furniture Market. They will then be available throughout the United States & Canada to purchase. I am extremely proud of this new association with one of America's premiere art houses. Pictured is a study from Sintra Portugal at the Palace of the Seven Sighs.
Color Accent Pillows
This pattern Trax/buttercup and Kenya/Charcoal make great color accents. The Sunbrella fabric will last like iron and can be washed with bleach...it only gets better. The throw is also woven with Sunbrella yarn...will not fade in the hot sun. I like to keep a wardrobe of pillow covers to change out the look of my upholstery. Zip them off and stake in a linen closet for the next change.
My New Design for Gat Creek
I like simple clean designs. My wood pieces are from Gat Creek. Made in America right in West Virginia. This company knows how to build furniture with old world techniques using solid woods: Cherry , Oak and Walnut. What an honor to have them create my designs. This is the Talmadge Refreshment Chest.
