Elsie de Wolfe A Legendary Decorator.
It was 1934 and Sir Charles and Lady Mendl( aka Elsie de Wolfe) lived in the Villa Trianon on the grounds of Versailles. They had to leave France for America because of the German invassion and go live in California. She certainly made her mark on American Decorating. I love her quote: "I believe in plenty of optimism and white paint."
