Only in California! This magnificent collection of art which includes Matisse and Renoir (among many others) will go on sale at Christie's on May 4th.The Residence of Mrs. Sidney Brody (the daughter of Albert Lasker) was designed by famed architect Quincy Jones and decorated by the design Icon Billy Haines.
What a perfectly marvelous "time capsule" of a lifestyle that was the epitome of California elegance. Custom book shelves and furniture by the former movie star turned decorator, Billy Haines who had the who's who of Los Angeles as his clients.
That delightful mural in the garden court is by none other than Matisse.
