Delightful Lunch With Wolfgang Puck's Smoked Salmon.

Nothing is better than Wolfgang Puck's smoked salmon famous at Spago. Beautifully presented with toast points. Delicious. Served "paper thin."

My Daughter's Cook Out For Memorial Weekend.

My Daughter Beth served this menu for Easter but it is the perfect cook out menu for this weekend. Lamb on the grill with a simple herb rub. Caramelized Roasted Fennel. Herb Popovers, Roasted Rosemary Potatoes and a savory Ratatouille. It is a great combination. We love carbs but you may want to add some sauteed Spinach.

The Napa Grill. A Delightful New Restaurant in Westlake, California

Enjoyed my visit to the Napa Grill for lunch. It is a casual, comfortable spot with a delightful lunch menu. I am sure dinner is just as good. We had the turkey club and pulled pork sandwich with a cognac sauce. Great! The herb garden is used for food preparation and yes, comfortable chairs that invite guests to linger and enjoy the meal. Daily food and wine specials are posted.

Vegetable Salad for Dieters.

A vegetable salad with the essence of ranch dressing. This composed salad is just what I need for the rest of the summer of delicious excess. There will be two "pea pods" for dinner. Yikes! This is from the Chicago restaurant Alenia at 1723 North Halsted. 312-867-0110.

Healthy & Easy Summer Supper

Supper at my daughter Beth's house. Simple, healthy and delicious. Flank steak on the barbecue with a dry rub of Indian spices; a tomato/ mozzarella salad,(fresh from her garden all different varieties and colors) with basil, avocado, onion and French vinaigrette. A nice red wine and you have a super summer supper. Anything she makes is thoughtfully and well prepared. Fresh fruit to complete.

Tomatoes Italian Style for Summer.

Tomatoes from the garden are the best. Now is the time to savor all kinds, sizes and colors and mix them with fresh Italian mozzarella. I like to use the little "ciliegine" with a touch of rich, virgin olive oil, a small amount of French mustard, fresh basil and my secret ingredient and few splashes of Worcestershire sauce. Yum!

The classic reds with salt and pepper and basil with drizzled olive oil also great any time of the year.

Breakfast on the Beach!

One of those moments to bank in the memory bank. Breakfast at the Loft restaurant on the outside porch overlooking the ocean in Laguna Beach, California. The chef has a breakfast sandwich that is quite delicious; scrambled eggs, maple cured bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato and of course a hash brown patty; all served with house made heirloom tomato ketchup. This is a breakfast of champions all right but I would not suggest swimming a mile right after. Just sit and enjoy the view. Wow.

Chef Beau MacMillan Shows Creativity

What a treat to have a dinner at the Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain in Arizona. Chef Beau MacMillan has taken an interesting turn on fusion: healthy choices and interesting combinations. The restaurant opens to the air (crisp that evening) and boasts an incredible wine cellar. The tofu starter with fried bok choy and roasted cashews is a must and the free range chicken with corn dressing and Kung Pow sauce is delicious. Simply serene!

Design Cafe At Pacific Design Center

It's breakfast at the Design Cafe at the Pacific Design Center. This is a delightful place to have coffee or a full breakfast before shopping at the Design Center. You also have a view of the waves of grass and meditate on the day ahead. Have a great day!

Breakfast at the Tavern Los Angeles

What a treat to have breakfast with friends Karyn Millet and Kathrine Collins at Tavern; famous chef Suzanne Goin's latest masterpiece. It is exceptional for breakfast but just as outstanding for lunch and dinner. Don't ask me why but every time I dine here it reminds me of London. The space has been designed by extremely talented designer Jeffrey Marks and he has not missed a detail to make this one of LA's best spots to visit and dine. If you are there for breakfast you must have the crumb covered eggs. Like nothing you have ever had; they poach the eggs slightly, then roll them in flour and bread crumbs and then quickly deep fry them. The result is a mix between a poached egg and a beignet...go figure. Delicious! Call for reservation: 310-806-6464

Lobster and More.

Anyone who has been to Santa Monica, California will know the restaurant called The Lobster. This landmark sits alongside the entrance to the Santa Monica pier. I had lunch there and what a marvelous chef they have with some very creative dishes. The Tuna is rare and tasty, the scallops like I have never seen prepared in a rich sauce and of course my favorite, the lobster enchiladas, with a side caesar, wow...sensational! Of course the view and the outside bar are just another reason to give this beach restaurant a try.

My Favorite Restaurant in Naples Florida

My favorite restaurant in the Naples, Florida area is Mira Mare. Located actually in an area called Venetian Bay and yes it is like being on a canal in Venice. The food is healthy and the price is right! I especially like the "home made" pastas and pounded chicken with fresh sauteed spinach. Shell pasta with rabe is light and healthy and service is great. Ask for Sal the owner and tell him I sent you.
