Always a delight to be welcomed by these beautiful flowers at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. A beautiful mix of fragrant blossoms. Enjoy your day.

Spring is in full force and when I saw that daffodils were only $1.99 a bunch, I could not resist to cover the house with small containers. These containers have a simple earth glaze and it sets off the blossoms much like the earth in the garden. I believe that with flowers more is less. It does not take a great arrangement to make a colorful statement.
Constance Spry gives arranging tips to the clothing designer Hardy Amies in 1960. Here was a woman that made floral decor an art. This innovative designer rescued items that were thought to be trash; such as twigs with moss and dried pods and leaves and mixed with abundant bouquets of multi-colored flowers in containers that were most unusual. She was and remains a legend.
A sunny, crisp fall day in Los Angeles and the perfect time for fall dahlias. The colors all blend to make a perfect fall arrangement. It is a sure sign that the summer blooms will give way to late fall and winter flowers here in California. This brings back memories of September in the Hamptons when we would gather flowers at the vegetable stands before they closed for the season. Had to share my view in the office/studio for you to enjoy.

My Hydrangeas are ready for drying! Not all of them, mind you but the ones on the back terrace seem to be calling out: dry me!
What is it with this flower, the Peony? You bring it into a room and it brings instant class and delightful aroma. Even when the petals fall it somehow looks wonderful! If I were to vote on the classiest (is that a word?) flower it would have to be the Peony...sorry Rosie.
