Edward Durell Stone, An American Icon. Modernist Aesthetic.

Edward Durell Stone
Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, he went on to become one of the leaders of the modernist movement. His designs for the Kennedy Center, and the Museum of Modern Art are legendary. His simplistic, elegant designs are pictured in structures he designed in Palm Beach, Florida. His son Hicks Stone (pictured) has just published a book on his father's life.

A New Direction For Wood Furniture.

Just completed, our New Gat Creek Crawford accent table. This will be delivered for installation in our Miles Talbott showroom for debut at the High Point International Furniture Show, April 1, 2011.

We have three shades of white. Seems like this is what our buyers want.

Believe it or not there is a beautiful cherry wood under this surface.

Our Crawford Etagere is extremely versatile and has many personalities depending on the choice of 16 different finishes. I like to use this piece in pairs as a room divider or flanking a window or fireplace. This market I chose the white finish and what a crisp, clean presentation in a room such as this Blue & White room. The wood pieces for the Joe Ruggiero Collection are made by Gat Creek. Made in America of solid Appalachian cherry or oak. The wood comes from sustainable and growing forests. These pieces are individually built in West Virginia one piece at a time and may I add, the finish on the wood is designed to be used by the entire family; yes, "kid friendly."
